Encryption on Mac without 3rd party application, set password to protect files in Mac OS X

Want to keep your data safe? You’better set password to protect it. If you are a Mac user, good luck, you needn’t any 3rd party application to make encryption for files. Just use “Disk Utility” in Mac OS X and you can make a password protected dmg file for free.

First, enter the “Finder – Applications – Utilities – Disk Utility”, click on the top of the “New Image” button.

Enter the file name and place to save it. Don’t forget “Encryption” option.

OK, you can set the password now.

A new Disk Image will be created, double click it and drag the file you want to set passwrd encryption.

OK, if someone want to open the file, password will be asked. So, the file is encryption protected.
