Drawing in Microsoft PowerPoint is not so troublesome since there are not so many drawing tools, filters or matte skills like Adobe PhotoShop. It’s possible that everyone could take control of it. Here I’ll introduce several frequently used drawing skills.

  1. Draw Square Rectangle or Polygon

    Press Shift key during Shape Drawing to generate square shapes is a common sense and very simple actually. However, it may be the most used trick to draw shapes, scale pictures even grouped objects.

  2. Align Objects
    There’s a powerful align tool in PowerPoint that could be ignored by freshman. Align objects appropriately could make presentation look neat and professional. To launch align tool, find Arrange from Drawing section under Home group:

    Then follow Align submenu in Arrange drop-down menu. Here you could see several align mode like Align left, Align Top, Distribute Horizontally, Distribute Vertically, etc.

    In addition, you can also change Grid Settings to determine whether snap objects to grid or other objects or not.

  3. Layer and Objects Group
    The order of Objects in the same slide is different and can be changed freely. You can bring an object to front or send to back to set the display layer of multiple objects.
